Description Stefan Seide 2008-09-19 21:35:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.9)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

I use an dual-head X-Server configuration without Xinerama, Compiz etc.

After restarting a session the window decoration for the second display is missing, so i am unable to resize/move/close windows there. On the first display everything works fine.

This bug seems to be the similar to bug no. 49596 "kwin does not manage windows on secondary dualheaded non-xinerama desktop", at least it is the same observed behavior.

Deleting the lines with "kwin" in the file ~/.kde/share/config/ksmserver restores the window decoration for both displays for the next session. Log out of KDE, a new ksmserver file is written with two kwin entries (one for display :0.0, one for :0.1). Log in again kwin is not started for the second display and after logout the file ksmserver contains only one entry for kwin with display :0.0.
