Description Nicholas Marquez 2008-09-15 05:30:30 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.1)
Compiler: GCC 4.3.2 Everything compiled with: -O2 -ggdb -pipe -march=native -maccumulate-outgoing-args -minline-stringops-dynamically -msahf -fomit-frame-pointer -fgcse-after-reload -freorder-blocks-and-partition
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Given the traceback, I'll say that I do indeed have some effects enabled. No extraneous KDE items are in use. Just a vanilla KDE 4.1.1 install. System is bootstrapped, though that's very likely irrelevant. I've attached:
~emerge --info
~a report of my system generated from hardinfo
~the crash report from Dr. Konqui

If there's any more info that could help, just let me know. Just don't ask me to recompile or such. Takes (took) forever whilst I lack copious free time.

Disable the blur effect, does it still occur? If it does disable each effect one-by-one until it no longer occurs. If you don't have a GUI you can edit ~/.kde4/share/config/kwinrc

That seems to have fixed it... Thanks! (Now I just have to deal with all the other artifacts and occasional crashes...)

Marking as FIXED (though I guess not really...)
