Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages When you have a shortcut that has 'Run in terminal' and 'Run as different user' checked, you just get a terminal that says Password: This is stupid - is it my password or root's? The GUI version says "Please enter your password." Also there are two kdesu's in bugzilla.
that's because KRun just puts "su" into the command line, i.e., the actual message is out of kde's control. one could inject an additional message, though. one could turn things around and call konsole from kdesu, but that would make konsole use root's settings, which would be weird. and before you ask, it is not really possible to run kdesu from within the konsole and then have the actual command run in that konsole.
Hi, kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years. KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have resolved this bug. If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue. We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.
