Description Maciej Pilichowski 2008-09-02 22:31:56 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.0)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

custom templates: please provide new tag -- quote mark

This way I could add quote marks to custom templates in flexible way. Currently I have to hardcode
>
into templates, but if I would like to generally change the quote mark in KMail, I would have to go through all templates and change it as well. Tiresome.

It would be better to have something like %QMARK and put
%QMARK hello
which would result in
> hello
if the quote mark was

There is already it.
%QUOTE
Comment 2 Maciej Pilichowski 2011-08-30 14:27:28 UTC
And this will add symbol of quotation indicator, right? Rhetorical question -- it won't. Reopening.
Comment 3 Torgny Nyblom 2011-08-30 15:54:20 UTC
Closing as won't fix as as I understand it you would like a simple way of creating a mail that looks like the person you quoted wrote something that they did not.
Comment 4 Maciej Pilichowski 2011-08-30 17:12:53 UTC
Maybe you should ask first, if you understand it?

I can always prepare a mail which looks like quotation from somebody else, now what, you block ">" on my keyboard? Please drop that Java attitude.

No, it is a way to automatically add a header and footer for quoted mail in consistent way. It was _my_ idea, but maybe there are other usages.
Comment 5 Torgny Nyblom 2011-08-31 03:09:57 UTC
Sorry for getting _your_ idea wrong, however if you are to have any chance of getting this done please drop the attitude and be a bit more polite.
Comment 6 Maciej Pilichowski 2011-08-31 12:36:10 UTC
Don't accuse ridiculously people at the same sentence as "good morning" and people will be polite to you, guaranteed.
Comment 7 Maciej Pilichowski 2011-08-31 15:34:16 UTC
You should have close it right away without giving any reasons in the first place -- so many bits would be saved.

Keep doing good job! 2012, year of KDE for sure.
