Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Right now the minimixer applet popup only has a master volume control, which is almost perfect but a mute/unmute button for the microphone would be great here (more would be overkill). A lot of people now use microphones with programs like skype, but mic's cause feedback loops so when not in use, you want to mute them. Having to open the full mixer everytime you want to use a VOIP app is an annoyance and a waste of user time. Even better (though I don't know if it's possible) would be a feature that could unmute the mic automagically if an app accesses the microphone device, and mute it again if it's not in use.
I don't think I will do that, as it will create bug reports: ("KMix shows Headphone in the popup window"). If done at all, it will be a more general approach. But I have no plans for that. => Setting Priority VLO
