Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs Enabling desktop effects with the direct rendering option causes kwin to show artifacts while whole windows (or parts of them) are redrawn. These artifacts appear as lines of pixels bordering the area redrawn by kwin. This happens also with plasma objects. By disabling direct rendering thse artifacts disappear. Bug reproduction steps: 1) Enable desktop effects, opengl and direct rendering (other options do not affect this bug) 2) Open 2 random windows and slightly overlap them 3) Minimize and maximize several times the foreground window This behaviour has been observed on opensuse 11.0 and kubuntu 8.10 alpha 4, kde 4.1, and an nvidia geforce 7600gs (driver 173.14 on opensuse, 177.68 on kubuntu). I attach 3 screenshots, in the third one you can see whole parts of a previously minimized window, this is not what i did see on the screen. http://i35.tinypic.com/2lsyw3t.jpg http://i34.tinypic.com/e9djzo.jpg http://i34.tinypic.com/qz1w6q.jpg
Which effects do you have enabled? I can only reproduce with the blur effect.
(In reply to comment #1) > Which effects do you have enabled? I can only reproduce with the blur effect. > You are right, the bug happens only when that plugin is enabled, i didn't think to it.
