Version: 4.1.00 (KDE 4.1.0) (using 4.1.00 (KDE 4.1.0), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-19-generic When logged in into a Horde webmail account (Horde 3.1.3) at the left side the menu tree is shown coorectly. If I click on "Webmail" normally a tree containing all the IMAP folders should be displayed (firefox does it right). Konqueror, however, does nothing in this case. Java/Javascript are activating and working normal. I will try to attach the containing frameset's html.

Thanks for your report. I've already fixed an important bug thanks to it, (http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-commits&m=121960403204419&w=2) which I noticed on the horde.org website. Unfortunately, I can't really do much with the horde problem. There doesn't seem to be a public test, and I am not even sure of what your provider is using --- horde has a lot of different subprojects. Any way, do you get any JS errors (little bug icon in corner of statusbar)?
After activating all possible debug stuff for java/javascript konqueror even crashed: [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread 0xb6058940 (LWP 13549)] [KCrash handler] #6 QString (this=0xbfdea490, other=@0x14) at /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qstring.h:676 #7 0xb43c590c in KJSDebugger::DebugDocument::name (this=0x0) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/khtml/ecma/debugger/debugdocument.cpp:77 #8 0xb43bc777 in KJSDebugger::DebugWindow::enterContext (this=0x9257890, exec=0xbfdea4fc, sourceId=68, lineno=52, function=0xb0d87200, args=@0xbfdea648) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/khtml/ecma/debugger/debugwindow.cpp:685 #9 0xb3ffa529 in KJS::FunctionImp::callAsFunction (this=0xb0d87200, exec=0x9211720, thisObj=0xb0dc00c0, args=@0xbfdea648) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/kjs/function.cpp:134 #10 0xb3ffe7c5 in KJS::JSObject::call (this=0xb0d87200, exec=0x9211720, thisObj=0xb0dc00c0, args=@0xbfdea648) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/kjs/object.cpp:99 #11 0xb43a2359 in KJS::JSEventListener::handleEvent (this=0x9273238, evt=@0xbfdea690) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/khtml/ecma/kjs_events.cpp:106 #12 0xb41b9ce8 in DOM::DocumentImpl::defaultEventHandler (this=0x9210080, evt=0x9262980) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/khtml/xml/dom_docimpl.cpp:2689 #13 0xb41d4d2a in DOM::NodeImpl::dispatchWindowEvent (this=0x9268bd8, _id=17, canBubbleArg=<value optimized out>, cancelableArg=<value optimized out>) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/khtml/xml/dom_nodeimpl.cpp:565 #14 0xb4183d98 in KHTMLPart::closeUrl (this=0x9196760) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/khtml/khtml_part.cpp:845 #15 0xb4184a59 in KHTMLPart::openUrl (this=0x9196760, url=@0xbfdeac54) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/khtml/khtml_part.cpp:734 #16 0xb7ea6c36 in KonqView::openUrl () from /usr/lib/kde4/lib/libkdeinit4_konqueror.so #17 0xb7eef4b2 in KonqMainWindow::openView () from /usr/lib/kde4/lib/libkdeinit4_konqueror.so #18 0xb7ef321c in KonqMainWindow::openUrlRequestHelper () from /usr/lib/kde4/lib/libkdeinit4_konqueror.so #19 0xb7ef6c36 in KonqMainWindow::slotOpenURLRequest () from /usr/lib/kde4/lib/libkdeinit4_konqueror.so #20 0xb7ef738c in KonqMainWindow::qt_metacall () from /usr/lib/kde4/lib/libkdeinit4_konqueror.so #21 0xb74714f9 in QMetaObject::activate () from /usr/lib/libQtCore.so.4 #22 0xb7471bc2 in QMetaObject::activate () from /usr/lib/libQtCore.so.4 #23 0xb7c93dff in KParts::BrowserExtension::openUrlRequestDelayed ( this=0x908cbb0, _t1=@0xbfdeafb4, _t2=@0xbfdeafbc, _t3=@0xbfdeafc0) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/obj-i486-linux-gnu/kparts/browserextension.moc:285 #24 0xb7c96e98 in KParts::BrowserExtension::slotEmitOpenUrlRequestDelayed ( this=0x908cbb0) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/kparts/browserextension.cpp:668 #25 0xb7c972b0 in KParts::BrowserExtension::qt_metacall (this=0x908cbb0, _c=QMetaObject::InvokeMetaMethod, _id=42, _a=0xbfdeb2d8) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/obj-i486-linux-gnu/kparts/browserextension.moc:224 #26 0xb41acb7a in KHTMLPartBrowserExtension::qt_metacall (this=0x908cbb0, _c=QMetaObject::InvokeMetaMethod, _id=46, _a=0xbfdeb2d8) at /build/buildd/kde4libs-4.1.0/obj-i486-linux-gnu/khtml/khtml_ext.moc:84 #27 0xb74714f9 in QMetaObject::activate () from /usr/lib/libQtCore.so.4 #28 0xb7471bc2 in QMetaObject::activate () from /usr/lib/libQtCore.so.4 #29 0xb7478037 in ?? No javascript bug is displayed by konqueror.
I tested this with my Horde 3.2 installation and it works fine, I can see and use the folder list below "Webmail". Even folders with umlauts are ok. There is an AJAX issue regarding konqueror from KDE 3.5.X here: http://bugs.horde.org/ticket/6365 KDE 4 is not affected by it, I just tried the same thing with and without the patch for Horde #6365. Please also check your apache error log for PHP errors, we had people hitting the PHP memory limit while loading the sidebar :-) (http://bugs.horde.org/ticket/6091) Guess the best thing would be if you could update to Horde 3.2 and try again.
I have KDE 4.1.00 under kubuntu installed from the repository http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu I still have the bug. Maybe the ppa-repo is slightly outdated and you have a newer version.
Your KDE version is fine. The "issue" is the Horde version as you mentioned running 3.1.x., the current one is 3.2. There were some improvements in the i18n area, so if you could upgrade, that would aid troubleshooting a lot. Thanks.
Ok, so we close this issue, as my university will need some time for that.
