Description erik.heckers 2008-08-23 21:44:45 UTC
Version: 0.9.3 (using KDE 3.5.9)
Compiler: gcc 4.2.3
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I'm using tag support Digikam, tags are not
stored inside the pictures (e.g. IPTC)

When moving or copying images from one album to another one using Drag&Drop the tags are
correctly moved or copied together with the image.

But when using the context menu to copy an image, the tags are lost.

How to reproduce:
Open (thumbnail view) of an album, select a picture and from context menu choose "Copy".
Go to another album and from context menu choose "Paste". Picture is copied but tags are not.

Workaround: Use Drag&Drop only.

Another workaround might be to store tags also in IPTC, but as I currently do not want to touch the pictures I didn't test that one ...

I tried to reproduce the error but right now I can't, because I'm not able to remove IPTC metadata anymore.

Gilles,
can you confirm this? (image->Metadata->Remove IPTC...)

I CAN'T (:-)) confirm this either.
I removed XMP and IPTC, I turned off metadata writing, I used the context menu to copy and paste the image into another folder-> tag is still there.

Ok. I close this file then...
