Description Gabriel Turta 2008-08-20 21:36:05 UTC
Version:           2.10.999 (using 4.1.1 (KDE 4.1.0 (4.1 >= 20080722)) "release 38.1", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.0)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.11-0.1-pae

For a large archive (>600M) splitted into multiple rar parts ark extracts an incomplete file of random size (200-400M).

Hi,

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm using KDE 4.1.2, ark 2.10.99.
Comment 2 Jonas Nyrén 2008-11-26 12:40:47 UTC
Can confirm this behaviour with Ark 2.10.999 and KDE 4.1.3

tested, unable to reproduce with ark trunk r905861 -> KDE 4.2
quite similar to [Bug 143808]

I just discovered that the 4.1 series of Ark uses a call that timeouts after 30
 seconds. If this extraction of multiple archives takes more than 30 seconds,
then this is most probably what is causing this problem. The fact that it is
split into multiple archives should not have any say in this matter, as ark
doesn't even know if it's extracting from a single or multiple archives.
This bug does not exist in 4.2 branch and trunk, and a fix to the 4.1 branch
has been commited with revision 908697.
