Version:           1.2.50 (using KDE 4.1.0)
Installed from:    Fedora RPMs
OS:                Linux

I am using kde 4.1 and akregator 1.2.50 on a fully updated fedora 9 machine. This happens all the time with akregator. Makes it a pain having to resize everytime you bring it out of the system tray.

Well, same versions here on kubuntu hardy with kde 4.1. But I cannot reproduce your problem. Works well here

Hmm, after updating to KDE 4.2 version which included fixes, I still experience same thing: it does not matter if I maximize Akregator window or not, it always opens, when clicking system tray icon, in quite small size, I'd say about 1/6 screen.
(If relevant, I use Mandriva's cooker)

Comment: before minimizing with the click on the system tray icon window was maximized, so expected behaviour should be to see maximized window again...

Which KDE version is that?
Do you use multiple screens?
Does it also effect applications like KMail?

I could reproduce it once (4.1?), with a two screen setup, and found out that kwin didn't store/reapply geometries correctly. It affected other apps, too.
At some point it started working again (4.2?) and I cannot reproduce it anymore.

KDE is 4.3.0. I don't have multiple screens. And I experience this only in case of Akregator (though, I don't have KMail in system tray - but I have in system tray Kopete which comes always up just in size it was before I minimized it to system tray and same for Quassel which I have in system tray, too). So, so far only Akregator has such irritating behaviour.

I'm still experiencing this problem in 4.3.4. I run the desktop in clone mode on my laptop and an external screen. I have not set any windows specific rule for Akregator. Akregator is the only app I've tried that experience this problem (don't have kmail installed).
