Version: (using KDE 3.5.9) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux When cropping an image, it would be useful if you could drag the selection rectangle around (with the right mouse button or a modifier key pressed). It would also be nice to be able to expand the selection box from the sides (not only the edges).
Dragging the selection rectangle around works with the left mouse. Expanding the selection box from the sides is currently not implemented. I would suggest that you file a new wish for the second point and that we mark this one here as invalid.
I'm agree with Arnd Gilles
I can't get it to work on my kubuntu 8.04.1, kde 3.5.9, digikam 0.9.3. As soon as I click the left mouse inside the rectangle, the grey image overlay goes away and "No selection" appears in the status bar...if nobody else is having this problem and the code is there, then I agree to mark this wishlist as invalid. I'm adding a new wish with the second point now. Any idea about what might be wrong with my system?
Stephen, can you try to compile 0.9.4 or current svn to see if the problem is gone there? (I use kubuntu 8.04, self compiled digikam, and don't see the problems). Installation instructions are at: http://www.digikam.org/?q=download/svn in particular below "Install digiKam in your Home Directory"; if you have problems in the process, don't hesitate to ask on the digikam users mailing list)
Hm, I have the same problem. We are not talking about the aspect ratio crop here, right? I should be able to simply open the image editor and mark an image region. This marked region should now be draggable araoung by clicking into the rectangle instead of outside? For me this does not work with 0.9.5~beta3 from debian unstable. Withe best wishes, Wolfi
