Description Richard Hartmann 2008-08-07 15:55:27 UTC
Version: 0.5 (using 4.1.00 (KDE 4.1.0), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.26-1-686

When hovering over a number, let the user clear the field with space as well as backspace.

Optionally, offer the same with 0 and/or enter which would be a great thing when playing with a numpad.
Comment 1 Matthias Fuchs 2008-11-24 00:11:24 UTC
You can allready modify the key-settings ("Settings/Configure shortcuts"). So if you prefer the numpad-enter and space simply set them.

In KDE you have allways two alternatives for one action, I -- having nothing to do with KSudoku -- don't think that more are really needed.
Comment 2 Richard Hartmann 2008-11-24 08:09:28 UTC
I don't have KDE4 here to test what the default keys for this action are. But what I really meant to say was "wouldn't it make sense to default to space for clearing fields?"
Comment 3 Parker Coates 2009-06-21 17:45:13 UTC
The current defaults are "Delete" and "Backspace" which also make a lot of sense (from a computer user perspective). "Space" and "0" would also make sense, but the KDE shortcut system is restricted to just 2 shortcuts per action.

Really, this simply comes down to a matter of personal preference and it's up to the maintainer to decide. This is a perfect example of why we should be thankful that KDE provides built-in shortcut customisation.
Comment 4 Richard Hartmann 2009-06-25 10:04:55 UTC
Hmm, the limitation of two shortcuts is a good point.

Is anyone against leaving this open or could the maintainer chip in on if this has any chance of ever being revisited?
Comment 5 Parker Coates 2009-06-25 14:27:17 UTC
I think it makes sense to leave it open until Johannes has a chance to comment.
