Version: 4.1.0 (using KDE 4.1.0) Installed from: Unspecified Linux Compiler: 4.3.1 OS: Linux There are 2 options that I know of in Konqueror that don't get saved on exit: If I go to Settings -> Configure Konqueror and in the "General" tab I check the "Show tooltips" box, it gets applied and works. But when I close and open again Konqueror, I have to check it again. Same with Settings -> Configure Konqueror. "Icons" tab. "Change icons and preview size". I change the size of the Preview and it works, but on exit I lose the setting and have to configure it again.
Sorry, to make more clear where this settings are: Settings -> Configure Konqueror -> File Management -> Views In the tabs "General" and "Icons"
I found out that going to Dolphin and changing the settings there causes Konqueror to use them permanently. So my *guess* is that both file managers share the settings (which seems like a good idea), but only Dolphin has permission to change them.
I have the same problem here (debian packages), and a friend has the same issue too...
Some more settings that only "stick" when changed in Dolphin: Views > Details > Expandable folders (formerly called Tree View) Views > Show selection toggle Views > Remember / Use common view properties for each folder
I might confirm this problem. When I want to change the web-shortcuts ('Einstellungen --> Konqueror einrichten --> Surfen im Internet --> Webkürzel', German localization) for e.g. from "google.de" to "google.at" for the "gg:" shortcut, the property is not persistet. Yet, the little message window that the configuration is updated is here. I cannot confirm that it would work in dolphin, since this part is not configurable in dolphin. Shortcuts in Konqueror 4.1.2 are also not persistent. This is especially critical because ctrl-tab isn't the default for changing the tab (the default of some similar applications).
Konqueror still does not save file management (Dolphin) settings in 4.2 RC 1. If I change settings in Dolphin, Konqueror takes it (but only after restarting Konqueror, while other Dolphin instances take it immediately as required by the UIG). This is a pretty ugly bug, still unconfirmed for 5 months. Please show that (after replying to all the complaints at the Konqueror->Dolphin change that Konqueror remains there for file management) you do not treat Konqueror as second-class citizen for file management and fix it ASAP.
I can confirm this issue on 4.2. Please don't neglect Konqueror as it's still the file manager of choice for many KDE users.

+1 here :/ i use konqueror to do the same job as it did on 3.5. would be nice to be able to configure it in its own configure window instead of having figure out that the view options can only be changed in Dolphin. Thanks :)
