Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package Compiler: Archlinux binary package OS: Linux I use Kate quite often. However, for some reason, Kate opens whenever I login to KDE. Everytime I login, there appeared 1 empty kate. Now, there appear two empty kates when I login to KDE! The second one appeared since I saved a new session. Maybe per saved session an extra kate will open when I login to KDE? When I logout of KDE, I have all programs, including Kate closed. Yet still, there open two kates when I login. I don't think this is expected behaviour...
I suppose this is a mix of bug 167826 (applications still running when KDE closes (even if the its windows are closed)), and session being saved and reloaded on KDE restart. KDE saves the "ghost" kate instances at the end of the session, and reloads them at a new KDE start (and the Kate windows are showed)
Yes, this is the fact that kate never actually quits, due to bug 167826. Please close kate using file->quit or execute "killall kate" before you exit your session. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 167826 ***
