Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Would be very nice to have the dictionary plasmoid in more languages like French, German, Italian, Spanish, etc and not only English. Maybe with the possibility to select with language (or site) use from the options.
Strongly sedconded! Otherwise this plasmoid is just useless, for common non anglo-saxon users, this is, most of the world's population. I concur with the original poster, it should be configurable which dictionary search engine to use like Konqueror or Ffox do. Reagards.

This bug got my attention again due to the new dictionary krunner plugin http://blog.zx2c4.com/808 which uses the same data engine. Please do implement a possibility to specify the dictionary language in the data engine, else both the plasmoid and this new very promising krunner plugin are quite useless for a lot of your users.
Given that this krunner plugin will be shipped with 4.10 per default (as per http://techbase.kde.org/Schedules/KDE4/4.10_Feature_Plan and as far as I can see in beta1), this feature request is getting quite important. If the possibility to switch languages or at least set it to the current language is not added to the engine behind it, this plugin shipped with 4.10 will be unusable for most of your users. Please consider adding this.
Great plasmoid. Unfortunately not useful for non-english speakers.
It seems that the english-only restrictions is due to the data-provider. Adding (/replacing with?) Wikitionary support could help to solve this.
Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
