Version: 1.1 (using 4.1.00 (KDE 4.1.0), 4.1.0-2.fc10 Fedora) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.11-97.fc9.i686 Hi , i have been using KDEPIM since 3.4 version . I use Opensync-Syncml plugin to synchronise my mobile phone (Nokia N Series) contacts with Kde Addressbook. it worked just great till Kde 3.5. With the Kde4 version , the synchronisation still works great, but there is a problem. When the contacts are received from the phone, the "formatted name" filed shows a blank. With kde 3.5 , the this was correctly displayed as "FirstName Lastname" . Also, when double clicked on a contact, the Name field is totally messed up. I see nothing in all the fields(ie Given name, Family name etc). This was not so with the previous 3.5 version and the names used to show up in the correct fields. Also, one more thing I noticed is that on double clicking the contact for editing, the text box beside the "Edit Name" button momentarily shows something and then becomes blank. Also one more weird thing is that for some contacts it shows the formatted name properly, but while editing it shows blank in all the fields as described above. here is the output of mysynctool --discover [aniket@mymachine 2]$ msynctool --discover KDE Discovered Objtypes: contact Format: vcard30 conversion config: (null) Discovered Objtypes: contact Format: vcard30 conversion config: VCARD_EXTENSION=KDE event Format: vevent20 conversion config: (null) todo Format: vtodo20 conversion config: (null) The first entry is for the phone. I have also tried the vcard21 format for the phone, the results are same. I am using opensync version 0.36
Small note: The same config for opensync with works perfect when I sync my phone to my evolution contacts.
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kontact (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
