Version: (using KDE 3.5.9) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux I use maildir's. steps to reproduce: 1. receive mail with huge mime-encoded attatchement (I've got 600MB one) 2. select unread message 3. kmail eats all RAM and starts swapping (I've got 2GB of ram) conclusion: 1. there's no chance to know if you got such weird mail until you try to open it (and then it's hard to know what's going on without manually checking mail) 2. when trying to delete it, it needs to be selected, but this triggers swapping workaround: 1. move mail from maildir somewhere else 2. use "head" to read the mail ;) expected behaviour: 1. kmail opens mail without showing attatchements 1. kmail allows to select message without eating so much RAM
@Bug triagers: hasn't this been reported before? Can't find a similar bug.
> @Bug triagers: hasn't this been reported before? Can't find a similar bug. Common problem in KMail, has been reported quite often actually. A 600MB mail would certainly not work correctly. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 110574 ***
