Version: 1.0.99 (using 4.00.98 (KDE 4.0.98 (4.1 RC1)) "release 7.1", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.0) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.5-1.1-pae please make the background in the directoy-tree-view-panel on the left the same default (white) as in the file-main-view. this looks so ugly in gray. and please make an option to change or to turn of the toggle-colors in file-detail-list-view.
does this both has a chance for kde-4.2?
Sorry, there is no chance for KDE 4.2 for those 2 issues, as the feature freeze has already passed a few weeks ago. Honestly speaking this is also a very, very rare request and hence the priority to fix this is not very high :-( Regarding the toggle colors you can adjust the color in systemsettings to the same color you use for the foreground.

I see also a problem here. List views should use the list view's standard color like the places view does. If the user chooses a very dark window color, he wouldn't be able to see the folder names anymore (the text color seems not to be configurable, also). See above attachment.
what about kde-4.4?
Regarding comment #4: The text color is not configurable, but Dolphin correctly uses the WindowText color on the changed background for the folders panel. This ensures the text is readable with all color schemes. It does, however, not react to system palette updates.
Dolphin 1.99 on KDE 4.7.80 (Beta2) from openSUSE unstable repo. And it has all versioning plugins enabled, so this is most likely the issue that you've described. I will verify it is fixed after the next update.
ooops, commented on wrong issue #, sorry for this! :(
Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
Dolphin looks a lot better with Breeze Dark than the image posted by @H.H. I think we can now close this issue, the switch to KDE Plasma 5 has resolved it.
