Version: SVN: Version 0.10.0-beta2 (rev.: 832007) (using KDE 4.0.83) KDE4 has many nice animations, for instance, when using the mew Kmenu. It would be nice if digikam used these animations as well. For instance, when switching from tab to tab in the sidebar. Another nice animation would be when selecting the Next Picture in View mode, the first picture could shrink to the left and the next picture could expand from the right. Don't forget to reverse the directions for us RTL folks though! (Digikam can be started with reverse UI with the --reverse flag, for testers who do not speak Arabic/Hebrew/Farsi)
Other places where the animations would be nice would be when expanding the Albums directories and the Tags hierarchy, when expanding/collapsing sidebars, and when switching to View mode.
This will be done when a pure QT4 port of iconview and folderview will be implemented later than 0.10.0 Gilles Caulier
I would like to add that an animation when browsing photos in View mode could help spatial navigation. When a user advances to the next photo, the first picture could shrink to the left and the next picture could expand from the right (as mentioned in OP). However, the reverse could also be true: when a user goes back to the previous photo, the animation would be from left to right (the reverse animation). This will make browsing the photos much easier and more intuitive.

Maik, In general, the first think that i disabled on electronic devices is the GUI animations. This too much disturbing. Gilles
