Version: (using KDE 4.0.83) Installed from: SuSE RPMs There is some strange icon in the upper right of the screen, wich i cannot disable. I regularly click on it by mistake and mess up my whole desktop or at least get my system to hang for quite some time although its a kinda fast computer. It also prevents me from putting my kmenu button in that corner of the screen, which i find annoying. I use no controlpanel at all (and i dont want to). I find this thing in the upper right totally annoying and have absolutely no use for it nor could i imagine any. So id love to be able to remove it.
Hi Bartemius, thanks for your report. This is not a bug however, rather a frequently asked question, whose answer is not yet written down somewhere, for everyone to read. Until we do write it down, you might be able to solve your troubles yourself, by reading this: (comment #85) http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154535#c85 I hope that helps. michael
Hi, thanks for the comment. Unfortunately that doesnt solve my problem, as im not interested in recompiling. I hope the poeple responsible for that will come to reason some day. ;-)
Michael: I've added a brief explanation of the issue in non-technical terms on the Plasma FAQ to avoid more confusion. http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Plasma/FAQ#Please_provide_an_option_to_disable_the_upper_right_cashew.
Great! Thank you very much, Luca!
