Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources When opening an audio-cd via the audiocd:/ kioslave in Dolphin, all folders (OGG etc.) are filled but the MP3 folder remains empty. MP3 codecs are installed, other ripping software like Audex works.
if this is kde4 and you are compiling from svn can you try to update and see if the problem is fixed?
This may be related to bug 169243
No news from the bug reporter, closing. Please reopen this bug report if you experience the same bug again with a recent KDE (4.1.4 / 4.2beta2 / 4.2rc1 / 4.2svn / 4.3svn) . Thanks :)
MP3 folder is now filled with MP3s, but copying files via drag and drop fails: ---- Encoding failed WARNING: libsndfile may ignore -r and perform fseek's on the input. Reusing the same bug number for something totally different is not a good idea, please next time open a new one, i'm changing the topic to reflect the current problem. It works for me btw, reading at the output of the file i'd say what lame says and recompile lame without libsndfile support to see if that fixes your issue.
I have the same problem on Suse 11.1 KDE 4.2.1.
Problem still persists with openSUSE 11.3 and KDE SC 4.6 Beta 1.
opensuse forum have a thread here where it is solved by compiling from source without libsndfile http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/multimedia/454946-cant-rip-mp3-kio-slave-k3b-libsndfile-error.html Also bug duplicate here https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=230026
and here https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=631269 So is it a packaging problem?
