Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources OS: MS Windows (Probably not limited to dolphin, but I don't know of a better place to report it.) There is a system wide trashcan (aka \RECYCLER) on MS Windows systems. It is absolutely confusing from a users point of view if KDE applications use their own trash in user profile instead of the system wide one. trash:/ should just use \RECYCLER on Windows. I don't know about OSX, but if there is a trashcan too this should also be used instead of the private one.
I'm working on this for windows (kio_trash) - clearing the trash, putting into trash and restoring already works bt there're problems monitoring changes in the recycle bin
Any progress on this, Christian?
Christian, What's new on this file. Look also this entry about digiKam : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=229465 Gilles Caulier
The kio_trash already has been committed "years" ago ;-) recent brokenness has been fixed too. The kio_trash really uses the system recycle bin.
