Description francesco 2008-07-06 11:48:11 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.83)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

I think that Amarok should handle Albums Vs Artists in a different way.

Jazz Groups have always changed their members, they are named by the member in charge as "Chief", But they are qualified by every member ...
Now the only way to qualify them is by the name of the group ... that many times is not so significant.
I'd like to categorize them by any member of the trio/quartet ... so, when look for Miles Davis production I can easily find records Of Miles Davis, Miles Davis Trio/quartets/quintets and also the records about the Younger Miles Davis ... When he used to perform with Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker ... all this without loosing the chance to find the same records when I look for Charlie Parker production.

As a wish list item, I would love the ability to cross-reference artists in the same manner as above. Obviously, the cross-reference would have to be manually established. Examples would be to have BB King & Eric Clapton's Riding With The King under BB King and Eric Clapton listings (as well as the combined artist) or maybe to list Cream albums under Eric Clapton as well as under Cream.

This seems to be a duplicate of 90095 (see especially paragraph 2 in its original post).
