Maybe it's just me, but the reason I care about file sizes is to know how long things will take to upload or download, or whether they'll fit on a disc. That being the case, I'd much rather have Dolphin show the file sizes in KB, MB and GB, so I don't necessarily have to get a calculator out.

I'm sure other people will hate the idea, so I imagine it'll need to be an option.

So it's not going to happen in dolphin unless KDE 4 implements a system-wide preference? Is that what you mean by marking it as a duplicate of 57240?

@mathew: Yes, there won't be a Dolphin specific solution for this.
