When using block selection mode it's not any more possible to replace only the content of the selection even if "Selection only" is checked.

The "Selection only" button should not be selectable (that's because I've set the severity to bug)

A preferred solution would be to have the same results of kde-3.5, the text inside the column get more or less correctly replaced. (and this fall in wishlist)

Use this text:

Switch to block selection and select the second column.
Open Find & Replace and replace 2 by @ and press Replace all

Kate 3.1.80 result:

1@3 1@3
@@3 @@3
3@3 323

Kate 2.5.10 (KDE 3.5.10) result:

1@3 123
2@3 223
3@3 323

It is very useful possibility of the editor kate. Anywhere in other editors I did not meet such possibilities. Very much it would be desirable that this possibility has appeared in new kate. Often I use.

Certainly fixed in upcoming KDE 4.5 thanks to Pascal. I'll mark it as duplicate report of bug #229454.
