Description Maciej Pilichowski 2008-06-16 14:08:55 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.82)
Installed from: KDE4Daily

ability to "raise" the active app entry (as in tabbar)

Take a look at tabbar -- it is pretty clear how it works, which tab is active.

Take a look at taskbar -- the same here. But note, that those two are similar, yet they behave differently. For me it is not the problem, but for regular users it is. Well, maybe not the problem ("big issue"), but it would be more useful to them (more clear, more intuitive) if there would be the same indication.

So the wish: please "raise" the active entry in taskbar, so user would get similar 3d effect as in tabbar.
Less to learn for users, the better.

I agree, active window should be better highligted in the taskbar using the default plasma theme.
Anyway it is an "artwork" issue related to the default plasma theme. Should this bug be moved to "oxygen" ?

@Maciej: try to change the plasma theme and the active window will be highlighted differently.

I know that with each theme the effect is different, but then it would be a problem of setting this up -- if it would be up to theme only.

Maybe in other words -- the problem is, that if for every "effect" you have to use another theme you end up with tons of themes.
Theme A.
Theme A' -- just like A but with taskbar improved.
Theme A'' -- just like A but with something else changed.
and so on.

So I think it would better have ways to configure them, so we'll have 10 themes but fully congigurable.
