Version: 0.50.1 (using 4.0.5 (KDE 4.0.5), 4.0.5-2.fc9 Fedora) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.4-30.p4.fc9.i686 QQ account can't be login. When I entered a QQ acount it doesn't connect to QQ servers and reported error as UNKNOWN.
I can confirm this on 0.50.80 (KDE 4.0.84), too. As a side effect the QQ symbol isn't shown correctly in the identity menu, but it is shown when you press the add-button.

Still the same with version 1.0.0 (with KDE 4.3.3)
pidgin 2.7.1 with QQ2008 plugin can login and chat successfully. So I think it may not be a protocol change problem...
The current version of the QQ protocoll (QQ2010) is available as a qq plugin for pidgin. (http://code.google.com/p/libqq-pidgin/) Perhaps someone could try to modify it to use it in kopete, too.
This bug is still valid with Kopete in KDE 4.8.4
This bug is still valid with Kopete in KDE 4.9.1

I'm not using Kopete or QQ anymore. Can't say anything about the bug...
