Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources OS: Linux It would be nice, if pulseaudio will be supported by kmix. So you can control volumes of applications like in pavucontrol within kmix.
I won't implement it (personally not interested), but would accept patches for the KDE trunk version.
Work in progress to add in first the global sound volume control.

I also think that this would be a great feature to implement!
Seems to be some progress on this at Mandriva: http://colin.guthr.ie/2010/01/mix-it-up/ http://colin.guthr.ie/2010/01/mix-it-some-more/ Is it possible to get it upstream?
his work is already in trunk and should have been part of version 4.4.71 (the latest svn snapshot as of now)
Yes, It Works. But now there's another problem - currently kmix automatically swithes to pulseudio mode if pulseaudio is running. And if I want to control simltaneously ALSA and PulseAudio controls (e.g. changing volume on my TV card), i have to use both kmix and aumix/alsamixer. It would be nice if kmix could control as pulseaudio as alsa channels (and maybe could run sever instances or use one instance for several channels). Though great work is made for now. Thank you, developers. It Works. :)
This feature is not official, but if you want to us multiple backends, you actually can. Add the following line in the [Global] section of your kmixrc (Usually in ~/.kde4/share/config/kmixrc or ~/.kde/share/config/kmixrc) MultiDriver=true But beware: At the moment you will get ALL supported backends as of now (e.g. ALSA + OSS + Pulseaudio).
I think we can call this "fixed"
