Description S. Burmeister 2008-06-06 18:16:48 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

In KDE 4.1 trunk it is not possible to assign a global shortcut to a channel. This did work in 4.0.x. Winterz said something about that functionality being broken because it is not ported to 4.1 yet.
Comment 1 Christian Esken 2008-06-06 20:45:50 UTC
This should already work again. Please test with recent trunk version (yesterday evening or newer). Feedback is highly appreciated, so please report back.

Just checked it. I didn't commit everything yesterday. I'll do so tomorrow. I'll notify this in this bug report when it is done.

Change priority and severity.
Comment 5 S. Burmeister 2008-06-15 13:04:25 UTC
This seems to be fixed now.

I am not sure whether this is related, but there is a new issue. Kmix somehow
claims cursor-up/-down as global hotkeys (although not shown in
systemsettings) and hence those keys do not work in e.g. konsole.

If on eassignes shortcuts, they work. If one then quits kmix and starts it
again, they are still assigned. If one restarts KDE though, the global
shortcuts are gone.

If I have alook at kdeglobalshortcutsrc I see:

kmix\x01Lautstärke erhöhen - Front, HDA ATI SB=Volume Up
kmix\x01Lautstärke verringern - Front, HDA ATI SB=Volume Down
kmix\x01Stummschaltung umschalten - Front, HDA ATI SB=Volume Mute

Other applications have a [applicationName] before their shortcuts, kmix does
not.

The shortcuts are not shown in kmix's settings.

bug 162144 might be related

Works for me in KDE 4.1.1
