Description Bruno Virlet 2008-06-05 16:51:42 UTC
Version:            (using Devel)
Installed from:    Compiled sources

Test case
---------
add a dimap account Local (imap)
Right-click -> refresh cache

add gmail dimap account GMail (imap.gmail.com)
Right-click -> refresh cache

Problem:
-------
first dimap account name changes into "GMail" and folders to gmail's.
restarting change first account folder name back to Local but subfolders stay gmail's

Kmail also mixed up my dimap accounts when I upgraded to 4.1.0 although I did not ask for a refresh (wrong names for the wrong accounts, and even an account completely disappeared!). It is the first time for me that upgrading kmail does such a thing.
After that I could not set up my 3 dimap accounts again: the refresh always mixed everything up. So I am using uncached imap now, quite unsatisfying!

I confirm the refresh cache issue.

A manual solution for me was to delete the caches with kmail closed. ( caches are in ~/.kde4/share/apps/kmail/dimap . ( pay attention they are in hidden files and hidden folders )

Has someone seen this in KDE 4.3?

I didn't see that with my current 4.4b version

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
