I wanted to change the default notification settings (Settings -> Configure notifications) in Kopete and switch off some disturbing popup windows on incoming messages. Kopete remembers these settings even after restart, but does not recognize them neither immediately nor after restarting the application.

I can confirm this. Even playing around with the setting: "Enable events while away" has no effect at all!

@Cyrill: Please open a separate bug if "Enable events while away" does not work like it should.
