Version: KMIX 2.6.1 KDE 3.5.7 ( release 72 ) openSuSE 10.3 64bit (using KDE 3.5.8) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Compiler: gcc 4.2.1 OS: Linux I installed a few soundcards in my system , because I develop audio/soundsoftware : 1) AC97 Soundchip onboard 2) SBLIVE! 5.1 SB0220 and 3) Terratec EWS88MT. When I open Kmix from panel, the applicationwindow is greater then 1280x1024-- all fader of the EWS88MT are visible and this window I can't get smaller but it's possible to enlarge it.
A scrollbar should be added. This could be implemented even on KDE4.
You can make it smaller by hiding some controls (use the context menu). Please note that is is changed/fixed in KDE4: By default only the most important channels ate shown by default. That makes KMix much smaller than 1280x1024. Depending on the GUI style it is about 500x270 in size with my soundcard - and is even less wide for other soundcards. The comment 1 asking for a scrollbar is something different, thus I will disregard this in this bug report - I acknowledge that something should be done for power users, but it is not neccesarily a scrollbar (e.g. see KAMix for alternative concepts).
As described, there is a workaround in KDE3, and a fix in KDE4. Closing as FIXED
> You can make it smaller by hiding some controls (use the context menu). >... I had no success, so I tried some things like uninstall / and reinstall Kmix, change the hardware setup by removing the cards and deleting the soundcardsetup in yast. Then I build up the system again. After this, it's possible to change the size of the applicationwindow of Kmix in X-direction (and only in X-direction). In the attachement you see a screenshot of how it looks. Created an attachment (id=25045) screenshot2.png.gz
Looks like you still have too many controls shown. Hide more. If it doesn't work, please post the ouput of "amixer" (or "amixer -c 1" or any other number that corresponds to the affected soundcard).
Hello In the attachement you find the output from amixer, as you wanted Created an attachment (id=25160) amixer.out.gz
Thanks for the feedback. I was a bit astonished about the many "ADC" and "DAC" controls, but from your amixer output I see that they are really there, and KMix is correct here. Well, in KDE4 they wouldn't be shown be default, so there is no issue in KDE4.x any more.
OK,thanks.
