Version:           2.9.999 (using 4.0.3 (KDE 4.0.3), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-17-generic

When Ark opens, the main window does not show anything and on the right there is a message which says that no compressed archive has been loaded. I have both rar and unrar installed and working fine.

The rar archive opens correctly in a KDE3 session using Ark 2.6.4.
