Ok, I can see where it came from:

but in Kdevelop (for example) this behaviour is configurable. Please add an option for controlling it -- I personally dislike it because it is too easy to close the tab and I am very rarely closing tabs.

The hover stuff is gone in kile trunk. Now we got like firefox a big cross on the right hand side of the tab.

My point was to make the UI configurable :-) Hover, not hover, with (x) placed within tab it is still easy to close the tab by accident.
