Version: 1.4 (using KDE 3.5.9) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux My (user pisikaA's) bug report is: ********************************* I have installed Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) on 3 different computers and on all of them I experienced this: Under Gnome, and from a Nautilus window (that's important!), it's impossible to start Kdvi program by just clicking on a .dvi file's icon (of course, I've previously made the necessary settings (in the file's Properties > Open with) in order to open the file with Kdvi by default). Related symptoms: 1) If I do the same from a Konqueror window, or if I start Kdvi from a terminal, or from the Applications menu, then it works 2) the same bug occurs to the application Kview 3) it doesn't happen with Kpdf (so this one works fine) So, apparently it's a bug of Nautilus, not of Kdvi (or Kview). *********************************** This bug has been already reported in the Ubuntu launchpad, see: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdegraphics/+bug/224678 But in the forum (of Ubuntu) Sebastian Bacher answered: *********************************** that's a kdvi bug and there already similar bug, the kde .desktop have incorrect path keys which seem to not be an issue in konqueror but doesn't respect the standard and doesn't work correctly in nautilus *********************************** The bug is confirmed by user Kelvin Gardiner. Thus I decided to report it as a bug of Kdvi (thus Kde applications). Thank you for answering.
kdvi is no longer maintained since KDE SC 4, and its functionality is replace by okular. If the issue in this report still exists in or apply to okular in KDE SC 4.10.5 or higher, please reassign the report to okular product or create a new report against okular.
