Version: (using KDE 3.5.9) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package Konqueror is a great browser. It is fast and reliable. But it definitely lacks a good set of extensions, which prevents some users from embracing it. Implementing support for Firefox extensions could be an immediate way of bringing all the desired extensions, but it would include a new dependency, the bridge between Konqueror and XUL could be hard to maintain and the combo Firefox + Extensions can turn the browser into an unstable, CPU/memory hungry beast. Nobody wants the same fate for our KDE browser. I believe Kross can be a better way to solve the same problem because it would allow people to extend Konqueror using the supported languages they most know or prefer, facilitating things for extension developers. Besides, Kross is described as fast and platform-independent. Finally, Konqueror would also be a huge test case for Kross...

It would be great a good managing and easy developing for extensions in Konqueror. Kross (about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kross_(KDE) ) can be the answer :D. What about integrating and managing Kross scripts in Konqueror?
Yes, I totally agree with you. Using Kross, a wide range of devs could write plug-ins using their prefered scripting language, be it javascript, python, perl, ruby etc., and the beautiful thing about Kross is that plug-ins are easy redistributable (no binary obstacles) and fully cross-platform. Konqi using Kross, probably would become a nightmare to Firefox using XUL when it comes to app extending, otherwise I find Konqi a lot better in general, but the lack of plug-ins forces me to use Firefox.
Any news about this ? We are waiting to write python plugins for konqueror
Kross got removed in KF6, that solves this, naturally no like anticipated, but that never took of, sorry.
