Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources Occasionally a paste between 2 tabs in the same console causes the tab receiving the paste to instantly close. I am having difficulty troubleshooting this or reproducing it reliably - any suggestions?
What kind of text are you pasting? If it contains special characters, they may affect the shell (^D for exit, etc.)
as far as I know, plain text like function names to paste into a gdb session to set a breakpoint. ^D should only cause an exit if it's the first character though, and there's always been other text in my pastes.
Hi Will, Does this still happen with a nested shell (ie. several shell instances running inside another)?
Hi Will, Any luck on reproducing this reliably yet?

No luck yet, but it only happened to me once in the last couple of weeks.
I figured out how to reproduce it. middle mouse button on a tab closes that tab without any warning, unless there is obviously a program running in that tab. I was obviously MMB-pasting and missing the tab contents (I have a Thinkpad X60 which only has a trackpoint, which gives me a -3 penalty to DEX)
