Version: (using KDE 4.0.3) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux I know this has already been talked, for example in bug #118714 , but I think this is still a big problem and should be improved. Lately kmix on my computer always crashes when it exits. A few months ago, before plasma and kde4, kicker used to do this sometimes. So yet again, now every time I click shutdown I have to wait for the kmix crash. I think that completely disabling crash reports is very bad for usability (most non-kde desktop apps on linux like to fail silently and that's confusing as hell to most users), but the kde crash handler should have some kind of time out, or save the information for later ("last time you shut down your system, a crash occured -- do you want more information?" next log in), so it wouldn't stop the shutdown sequence. This is especially bad on laptops, because they are very silent, and you expect that when clicking shutdown and closing the lid all is ok, when instead it won't shut down.
What about commenting in that bug instead of open a new bug?
Ah, sorry, I thought of doing that but aside from the "prevents shutdown thing" the request itself "how to disable it per-app", was different (and already possible) from what I am proposing.
