Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources In the collections browser album art is only shown for albums. I understand that is what album art is for (hence the name). Artists, however, only have the same generic image. You can only see the album art if you expand the tree for that artist. Having one of the album art images for each artist automatically selected as the image for that artist would be extremely useful for navigating. At least for me it is a lot quicker and easier to navigate by using an image than by having to read text. Which album is selected isn't important, as long as it is consistent between sessions. It could be the first alphabetically, the first in the file system, or just selected randomly if the selection is remembered. Just something to individually identify artists by an image rather than by having to read text.
This should probably be listed under 2.0-alpha or 2.0-svn. At least that was what I meant it to apply to.
confirming after talking to leinir
I only think this is a good idea if we keep the images down at the tiny size of the current artist icon. Using the same size images as we use for albums would create a riddiculous amount of scrolling in large collections, and be completely unusable. With collections of hundreds of artists, the amount of vertical space that would be wasted for this would not be trivial and should really be thought about closely before implementing.

It looks like elisa/moovida is able to get pictures of the artists themselves, perhaps through wikipedia.
I think we should retag to 2.3 because of feature freeze.
