Description Haris Kouzinopoulos 2008-04-02 13:02:45 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

If a user types 'gmail' for example in the location bar, konqueror should open www.gmail.com just like firefox does. I think this is a very time saving feature.

You only have to set Google (I'm feeling lucky) in settings > konqueror settings > web shortcuts > favourite search engine

Great, this works! Can this behavior be set by default? Most users won't discover this..

Hi,
Glad you like the solution.
However this would not be a good default imo. A lot of users use the location bar to search the web. (Firefox also uses normal google in the location bar)

If you want to help users discover this feature you could add a tip on userbase.kde.org or on the forums.

I'm closing this bug as it 'technically' works. The remaining problem is to inform people that want to use it. Again, help appreciated ;)
