Version: (using KDE 4.0.2) Installed from: Mandriva RPMs Mandriva bugreport: https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=38788 Description of problem: When running KDE 4 I have two desktops on my external monitor. One is overlaid over the other. One is 1280x1024 (the resolution the external monitor is set to run at) and one at 1024x768 (the resolution of the laptop's LVDS panel). You can even click the KDE menu on both desktops! When running KDE 3.5.9 everything is fine. I get dual separate screens on the LVDS and the external monitor as normal. The xorg.conf file was generated by the drakconf tools. This bug is linked to 38787. KDE4 cannot change the display settings. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 4.0.2 How reproducible: Everytime Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run up KDE4 on a laptop with an external monitor of higher resolution than the LVDS panel attached. 2. You get two desktops on the external monitor. One 1280x1024 and one 1024x768 in size. 3.
