Description usrrgt 2008-03-20 15:36:08 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

KWin supports some addtional options, like as "show in all desktops" or "show on top".

My request is for new button: send to try.

On KDE4 kcontrol has been replaced by Systemsettings.
Anyway, this is a wish for the kwin product.

The Systray using X11 embed has been deprecated and replaced by a new protocol. The new protocol has to be supported by the application - we cannot just force the window to use a StatusNotifier like we could with the X11 embed systray.

Furthermore the Systray is not a replacement for tasks applets which just show the icon. For Plasma various tasks applets exist which provide the option to only show the icon. This is the proper approach to get small items for minimized windows. Abusing the systray is no solution to achieve this.
