Version:            (using KDE 3.5.8)

Currently user has to know exact name of each tool. It would be great if kile could suggest some choices the user can make or even detect what is installed and limit the choices (+manual entry) to only installed tools.

For example, if I have latex, omega, and xetex installed, the list (for latex entry) should contain three items (+manual input as today).

You can happily delete all uneeded tools. Therefore I think some automation is not needed.

Well, sure I can do it happily, but I am not sure I will be happy after uninstall. The thing is tex world is quite complex to some guidance is very useful.
