Description Alex Dănilă 2008-03-12 23:06:18 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

Using kmail 3.5.8

When receiving emails forwarded multiple times which also include large atachments kmail will start to use more and more memory. It gets to aprox 500 MB and maybe would go even more but the swapping makes to computer freeze and I have to kill it.

This looks like
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=110574
but it doesn't need such big e-mails, 10 MB is enough.
Also, kmail is able to work with 20 MB mails, but these where no multiply forwarded. I can provide such an e-mail if needed.

Yes, KMail uses too much memory, but that has already been reported in bug 75045 and bug 110574.
