Version: (using KDE 3.5.9) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux At the moment the encoding rule for the name of attachments with non-english characters can only be selected application wide (outlook compliant vs. standard). It would be nicer, if you could select this from the composer on a per mail basis (similar to plain-text or html email). Maybe it is even possible to add a special field to the addressbook component like "this recipient uses outlook/standard compliant email reader". Regards, Matthias

As the original creator of this wish I must admit that am not sure myself, because I do not know the situation with the new Outlook releases 2007, 2010 and so on. At the moment I use standard compliant attachments and I have not heard any complaints from other users for some time now. I am sure that there are Outlook users among them, too. So I do not know, if these users just do not complain or if the problem does not exist with newer versions of Outlook. If newer versions of Outlook still have the same problem with attachments, I would prefer to leave this request open. I think a developer who knows Outlook better than me, can answer this question. But at the moment it is not an urgent problem for myself.
