Version: 1.2.9 (using KDE 3.5.9) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux Kontact profiles completely ignore all system-wide preferences like colour schemes. Running Kmail however does not have this issue. This is an issue for people with accessibility problems / visual impairment because the colour grey it uses is far too bright. Kontact needs to respect the colour scheme used by the rest of KDE, not hard-code its own. This occurs both within OpenSuse 10.3 running KDE3.5.9 and Kubuntu.
This also occurs within KDE 4.0.2.
I had the same problem (running KDE 3.5.9 on Mandriva Spring 2008) after changing the profile to Outlook Style - this profile has its own colour scheme. After switching back to my previous style, the colour scheme remained the same. However, I fixed it by removing from my $HOME/.kde/share/config/kontactrc the following section: [General] alternateBackground[$d] background[$d] buttonBackground[$d] buttonForeground[$d] contrast[$d] foreground[$d] linkColor[$d] selectBackground[$d] selectForeground[$d] shadeSortColumn[$d] visitedLinkColor[$d] windowBackground[$d] windowForeground[$d]
I really appreciate you taking the time to post this, - it's fixed the issue for me. Thankyou :) On Sunday 04 May 2008 19:41:04 Philipp Wilking wrote: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail]
