Description Andreas Pietzowski 2008-02-22 17:43:25 UTC
Version: 2.5.9 (using 3.5.9 "release 51.2" , openSUSE )
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18.2-34-bigsmp

Hello,

since I updated to KDE 3.5.9 I realize a very bad behavior in Kate. Normally when you select multiple rows and press Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V directly afterwards, the cursor is positioned at the bottom of the selection you made before. Since KDE 3.5.9 the cursor is positionied at the end of the FIRST line and not the bottom.

With this bug it is impossible to do Ctrl-C and five times Ctrl-V for example. It ends up with five times the first line and then five times the rest of the selection. It mixes up the whole text!

Please fix this, also KDE 3.5.9 is set to be the last bugfix release. The editor is nearly useless with that kind of bug.

Thanks
Andreas

This is fixed (see #158069). Distributions should provide updated packages.
