Description Joe Biden 2008-02-20 02:40:17 UTC
Version: 1.9.9 (using 3.5.9, Kubuntu (gutsy) 4:3.5.9-0ubuntu1~gutsy1~ppa1)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-14-generic

I have a subfolder "Old" of a folder "Photo". Kmail under 3.5.8 found the folder in the move dialog by just typing in "old". Now, I just upgraded, and it no longer finds "old". Even capitalized. Finds every other dang folder but "old". Even other subfolders of "Photo".

I am stymied.

The "Move To"-Feature now changed to a submenu holding the hole directory tree, including subfolders starting with "Old". So i assume this has been fixed.

You know what they say about those who assume...

Use the keyboard shortcut to move, and type Old...

To reproduce:
select message
hit M
Type: Old
Stand back in awe when your "Old" folder isn't selected.

Ok, I didn't know there was a shortcut for it. Found the dialog now and it works fine too. The "Old" folder is selected when I type in "old". So I still assume this has been fixed ;)
Tested with kmail 1.11.2

Hmmmmm, something isn't right here. Make a Top-folder named Old, and give it a few subfolders. Does the keyboard shortcut still work? Do not use the mouse at all...

I checked this with all kind of folders as top- and sub-level, local folders, imap, dimap. Always the same (good) result. But I just checked it again with my current build from trunk which happen to use the english locale, where my regular installation uses the german translation. And this seems to be the point: The search feature not only looks for the name, but also for the path, and for local folders, this path starts with "local folders" which happens to contain the substring "old".
So are you using local folders or imap?

hahahah, that's hilarious. I never would have seen that.
Yep, I think you've got it. I'm using Local Folders. At the very least, like when there are two folders named "Online", both stay in the list (which is great). Perhaps this should be the behavior.

Marking as resolved, the search is well done. (only more than expected).
