We do not have now video preview on dolphin like we have for images. Maybe with phonon it would be now easier to do... It would also be interesting if we could play the video preview on the information bar with some basic controls, like play and stop (maybe pause).Dolphin shouldn't be a media player substitute, but having previews is great when you have to look for a file in a big or huge collection. This is the kind of little thing that makes everything better, like Aaron once said (in a screencast, I think). Apple now does this kind of thing in Finder (with coverflow), I think...

Just a suggestion, thanks for all you developers for the EXCELLENT work done so far with dolphin... ;) and sorry for my English... learning...

Another idea for a video preview would be having an animated slideshow with some frames at different positions of the movie.

Would that be possible?

I read that a video preview using Phonon was developed for Digikam. Maybe this code could be a good way to start and we could use some of this code to develop this feature on Dolphin.

Another wish seems to cover exactly the same issue...
