Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources I'm trying out some desktop layout without a classic panel using only plasma applet as widget. It's cool but I think that it would be great to have the possibility to put an applet always on top of the windows. This could be very useful for some widgets, say clocks, system tray.. It could be an option for the applet --> always on top! thank you very much for your time
> It could be an option for the applet --> always on top! well... that... is exactly what panels are for. :) you'll see once we have proper panel configuration.
sure..but could there be life without panels?? ;-)
the dashboard fixes this wish
the dashboard doesn't fix this wish at all..if you understand what was written. Applets should be on top of the working windows , let say , the browser? probably maybe it's a hard thing to do , but FIXED is not the case, WON'T FIX could be more appropriate.
OK i see. You could use as an alternative the plasmoidviewer. But that is not the supported version, but it should work more or less (feel free to improve the code by the way, should be quite easy). i keep that report open
Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
